We take a collaborative approach when engaging with families
Ofsted (2021) reports that there are around 400,00 children open to social care services at any one time and around 80,000 of these children are in care. Research tells us a lot about outcomes for children in care and we are seeing an increasing number of placement and adoption breakdowns as children and young people s
At Parents in Partnership, we believe in supporting parents and carers to ensure that more children can remain within their birth families and the right support is given at the right time to ensure children feel loved and secure in their homes.
Parents in Partnership uses a strengths-based approach to all assessments, support and advice given to parents, carers and professionals and utilises a multi-disciplinary approach to assessing need and supporting care.
Using a Motivational Interviewing framework, we seek to assess and support parents focusing on their capacity and motivation to change. Using the multi-disciplinary team and network the family have around them we seek to support the needs identified to effect change.
Our vision is to support more children to remain within their birth families by providing the right support to meet the identified needs. We can provide assessment and support both in the family home and in other settings, addressing needs such as domestic abuse, mental health and parenting capacity.
We offer consultancy and training to Local Authorities, Education settings and other organisations as required to support their safeguarding delivery.
