The Pips in home assessment (IHA) provides an alternative option to assessment and support which may otherwise have been a residential setting or separation of child and parent where it was assessed as necessary to do so. We will provide care and support that is appropriate to the family’s individual needs which can take on many forms including supporting family time and assessment in our bespoke facility, assessment in the home during specific times through to 24-hour care if required.
The PIPs home assessment provides safeguards for the child/ren, whilst assessing and supporting parents to provide care for their child/ren. The highly skilled team of social workers and family practitioners can provide day and night care that ensures parents are observed and supported to provide safe care for their child/ren, whilst also offering an opportunity for feedback, teaching and modelling, elements which are crucial to determining safe and consistent care.
Detailed observations of parent/child interactions are taken and collated and presented to the local authority and form part of the overall assessment of parent’s capacity to care.
Full support can be provided to support parents in the rehabilitation of care of their child if the child has been separated, through to full care of their child in the community safely supporting their ability to sustain the changes made to their parenting capacity.
Reduces the need for possible separation, multiple placement moves and/or a move to a residential setting. Allowing for a continuation of care and reducing the likelihood of any further assessment being required.
